I’m not going to give a full rundown of all the wax figures at Madame Tussauds. Props weren’t available during this visit, likely because of COVID-19. You’ll often find props to help you accomplish that. One of the fun things about Madame Tussauds is to get into character or enjoy the scene. If the celebrity is looking elsewhere, and you’re looking at the camera, it looks funny. If you want to grab a selfie with one of the wax figures, position your camera so the figure is “looking” at your camera. Position the camera in the right spot.I kept hoping someone would be honest and turn it in. Someone had walked away with my $350 camera. We returned, but couldn’t find the camera. Thirty minutes later, I realized I had left the camera on that table. I forgot it was there and we continued through the museum. I set the camera on the table next to Bugsy Siegel (an American mobster) so my wife could take a photo with my other camera. It was my own fault, but during one of the last rooms of my visit, I pulled my point-and-shoot camera out of my back pocket so I could sit in a chair. Bring a backpack you can use to stuff all your items in so you’re only picking up and setting down one item – the backpack. Why? because I don’t want to have all that “stuff” in my selfies or photos. I was constantly setting things down and picking them up. During our visit, I was carrying two cameras, one phone (with camera), a camera bag, jacket and a souvenir guidebook. Here are some tips to help you get the most fun out of your visit. I’ve found things that made the visit more enjoyable, or that hampered the fun. I’ve toured a couple of wax museums over the years. The guidebook can help you identify some of the celebrities in the museum, and you’ll find a few coupons for purchases in the gift shop or souvenir photo. Souvenir guidebooks ($5) are available for purchase as well. You can also purchase a cold soda or bottle of water. Show your pre-purchased tickets at the front desk. Keep an eye out for the directional signs. You need to take some moving sidewalks up to the entrance. Tickets can be purchased onsite, but you’re subject to museum capacity limits. Purchase tickets online in advance of your visit and select the time slot of when you plan to visit. They have hand-sanitizer stations throughout the museum. We did remove the masks for selfies, but immediately replaced the mask when we were done. I’ve been to other wax museums where the likeness just wasn’t quite there.
I was impressed with the quality of the wax figures on display at Madame Tussauds. Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas gives you that chance to have some fun with your besties as you party with actors, celebrities, and sports heroes. Especially if you can snag one with Vin Diesel, Katy Perry, Babe Ruth, Lady Gaga, Bette Midler or Captain America.
